About
Hi, I'm Priyanka.
I’m a professional with six years’ experience in English language teaching, academic support services, writing, and instructional design.
I have an associate certificate in instructional design (CDLA), a certificate in English language teaching to adults (CELTA), and a bachelor’s degree in sociology. I speak English, French, Tamil, and a little Hindi.
I’m a firm believer in the growth mindset. I believe: that anyone can learn anything, that the process of trying to learn something makes better people of us all, and that everyone should have access to rich, lifelong learning opportunities.
I leverage my education, work experience, lived experience, and personal philosophy to facilitate deep and sustained learning.
As learners, we take away so much more from our human teachers than just their knowledge. We also learn from them new ways of being. Sometimes it's the humour that they bring to conversations; other times it's that they made you feel truly seen and heard. It's not every teacher that inspires, but when you find one that does, it changes your life. Here is a couplet I wrote in honour of the teacher who trained me:
Teacher, you said very little, but everything you said, and left unsaid,
Is etched in my heart and seared into my memory.
